Yaman, the God of Death is known by many names all over the world. Every person is sent to accomplish a mission in this world. Once the person has accomplished his mission, Yaman takes the person to heaven or hell depending on how well he/she has understood the mission. But the people of Earth have misunderstood Yaman and started fearing his arrival. Everyone fears Yaman and death.

One boring and ordinary day in Yamaloka, Yaman was sitting in his great throne made of human bones and flesh. He was half asleep as he slowly scribbled down names in his notebook. As the names were entered in the notebook, their owners died one by one. But about two-hundred years ago, the state of Yamaloka was not like this. At that time Yaman was younger and more interested in the job. This is the reason why the population of the world was less back then compared to the present. Not because of improvements in medicine and technology as the humans believe. Going back to Yamaloka, Yaman keeps writing down names in his notebook in his half-sleep. Suddenly he sits straight in his chair. He got an idea. But because of this sudden movement, he drops his notebook and it falls from Yamaloka straight to the Earth. Basically his idea was to find a servant to do his job for him but the consequences he'll have to face because of the loss of his notebook dawned upon him and the idea was momentarily forgotten.

He snapped his fingers and black horses in golden armor tied to a black chariot with golden wheels materialized before him. Without wasting another second he jumped into the chariot and left to Earth to retrieve his book. His senses suggested that the book was located in the city of Coimbatore in India. What a nice city this is compared to Yamaloka, thought Yama. As he was awestruck by the beauty of the city and a woman who he found beautiful, he forgot completely about the book and disguised as a man and married the woman. He was happy for a while and had a child too, until he realized that the woman had found his notebook when it landed on Earth. He was horrified as he knew very well that if a mortal being holds this book, she will turn into a terrible demon.

According to his predictions, his wife, who was once very nice started to torture him with household work. At one point of time he couldn't take it anymore and he roared,"I am the God of Death. How dare you treat me like this!" His wife laughed in an evil manner and said in an evil voice,"Prove it by killing all the mosquitos in the house." Yaman could not do this as he did not have the book. He had to get the book from his wife before she knew how to use it. He tried searching for the book at once and found it. He took his child who was a boy and fled to Yamaloka. As he knew he cannot take care of his son alongside his duties, he gave his son a boon and sent him to Earth. The boon was the ability to cure anyone from any disease with the mere touch of his finger but whenever Yaman was there in the place his power would not work.

The boy became a young man and made a great living. One day the princess of the Chola Empire developed an unknown disease. No great doctor could cure her. But of course Yama's son could cure her and he arrived with his mother and without any med kit. The king who was growing more worried as time passed accepted Yama's son's demand for his daughter if he cured her. When he was about to touch the princess and cure her, Yama arrived on the spot. Yama's son knew that his power would not work now but he was smart. He called his mother in an excited tone,"Amma, come here fast. Father has come to see us after all these years." The desired confusion could be seen on Yaman's face and his wife's voice saying,"Oh I missed him so much. I can't wait to see him.", was enough to send him beating a hasty retreat in his chariot immediately to Yamaloka.

He promised himself that he would never return to Earth. If he would have thought a bit then he would have known that his wife will be a normal person by now as she does not possess the notebook anymore. Back in Earth, Yaman's son gives an excuse that he was just dreaming about his father and he cures the princess. He gets married to her and spends the rest of his life happily with his mother and wife and their life is longer than any other human as Yama, in Yamaloka, was too scared to send them to heaven early!!!!
