Boats sail on the rivers,

And ships sail on the seas,

But clouds that sail across the sky,

Are prettier far than these.

There are bridges on the rivers,

As pretty as you please;

But the bow that bridges heaven,

And overtops the trees,

And builds a road from earth to sky,

Is prettier far than these.

மேகங்களும் வானவில்லும்  --  கே.எஸ்.கோபாலகிருஷ்ணன்

அழகிய  படகுகள்  ஆழமான

நதி  நீரில்  நீந்திச்  செல்கின்றன

கண்கவர்  கப்பல்கள்  காத தூரம்

கடல்  நீரில் நீந்திச்  செல்கின்றன

மங்கையரின்  கூந்தலென  வானத்தில்

மேகங்கள்  நீந்திச்  செல்கின்றன

அழகிய  படகுகள்,  கப்பல்கள்,

 மங்கையரின்  கூந்தல்  அழகை விட

வானத்தில்  நீந்திச்  செல்லும்

மேகங்களின்  அழகுதான்  அழகு!

நதிகளின்  மேலமைந்த  பாலங்கள்

அழகானவை  உன்னைப்  போல!

வானத்தின்  மேலிருந்து  நீண்டு

இறங்கிப்  பாலமென  மரங்கள்  மீது

படர்ந்து,  மண்ணுக்கும்  விண்ணுக்கும்

நீண்ட  ஒரு  சாலையென  வானவில்

படர்ந்திருக்கும்  அழகுதான்  அழகு.
